Welcome Address

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this year’s Diabetes Malaysia Conference (DMC) 2026, a gathering that brings together clinicians, allied health personnel, researchers, policymakers, and partners committed to advancing diabetes care and cardiometabolic health in Malaysia and beyond.

As Diabetes Malaysia is the official country affiliate of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), this meeting reflects our enduring commitment to global standards, regional collaboration, and evidence-based progress.

This year marks a particularly meaningful milestone as we host the inaugural Joint Diabetes Malaysia – Korean Diabetes Association Symposium. This first-of-its-kind partnership underscores our shared vision of strengthening scientific exchange, fostering innovation, and deepening ties between two IDF member societies dedicated to improving outcomes for people living with diabetes.

Over the next several days, we invite you to engage with new ideas, challenge existing paradigms, and contribute collectively to shaping a healthier future. We hope the discussions, expertise, and collaborations forged here will leave a lasting impact on our community and the people we serve.

We wish you an inspiring and enriching conference. Thank you!

Professor Dr. Lim Lee Ling

Chairperson, Organizing Committee, Diabetes Malaysia Conference 2026
